Koh Lanta
A long, calm island with sunsets along the western shore and no nightlife to speak of.
island
by ferry

What is good
- Genuinely quiet: no clubs, no crowds
- The west coast is one continuous line of sunset beaches
- Cheaper than Phuket and Samui
- A bridge from the mainland; the ferry covers only one stretch
What to be ready for
From May to October much of the island closes — hotels and cafés simply do not open. The choice of villas is small and medical care is basic.
Who it suits
Couples and families who come for quiet and can do without a choice of restaurants.
Season
November to April. In low season the island empties noticeably.
Getting there
Fly to Krabi, then minibus and ferry — about two hours.
No property here yet. That does not change what the place is like.
