What to be ready for
The airport is privately held and tickets cost more. The rainy season is shifted: October to December is wet here while Phuket is already dry.
Who it suits
Anyone who finds Phuket too loud but still needs a hospital, a school and deliveries.
Season
Best from January to August. October to December are the wettest months.
Getting there
Its own airport; cheaper by flight to Surat Thani and then the ferry.
